Is Christianity worth respecting? Tim H. who wrote a comment for the Atheist Bible Commentary that suggests he doesn’t think so. So I thought i’d explore the ideas contained in his quote on the show tonight. Hope you like it.

Quote from the Atheist Bible

How do you respect someone who says that you will burn in torment for all eternity if you do not agree with them?

Respect is impossible at that point. You are threatening me with violence that exceeds the limitations of any suffering here on earth for the crime of not agreeing with your religion.

Your hold book calls me a fool (Psalm 14:1-3) and say that I can do no good. Your beliefs and your religious texts discriminate against me. They portray me as evil and corrupt. Yet, you want me to show you respect?!

When you come to me pleading with me that I show your beliefs respect they do not deserve which you and your religion fail to show me, the only response comes to mind is a hearty and sincere “f*** you”.

    Hi I just have to comment on this I mean this person is totally wrong is not us christians who ask you to agree with us is God who ask you that, nor are we threatening you with any kind of violence but the Bible does says in Hebrew 10;29-31

    How much worse punishment do you think is deserved by the person who walks all over God’s Son, who acts as if the blood of the covenant that made us holy is just ordinary blood, and who insults the Spirit of grace? We know the one who said,

    Judgment is mine; I will pay people back.

    And he also said,

    The Lord will judge his people.

    It’s scary to fall into the hands of the living God!

    Don’t count yourself among a group of sinners; remember that God’s anger won’t delay. Sirach 7-16

    According to the Bible any man who does not follow Jesus Christ is called a fool because they seek their own ways

    Fools see their own way as right, but the wise listen to advice. Proverbs 12;15

    Proverbs 3:5-7
    Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
    don’t rely on your own intelligence.
    Know him in all your paths,
    and he will keep your ways straight.
    Don’t consider yourself wise.
    Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

    The wages that sin pays are death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

    Luckily God offer us salvation trough Jesus Christ who died in our place for our sins and became the way for us to heaven

    Romans 10:9-10
    Because if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and in your heart you have faith that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Trusting with the heart leads to righteousness, and confessing with the mouth leads to salvation.

    So bottom line is not us who judge u but God who when the man sinned established a punishment but his son Jesus in his mercy came to save us dying for us and it is only if we believe this that we are save from the punishment of eternal death and instead give eternal life trough Jesus Christ
